MY STORY
Hey, I'm Tal. I'm a wedding photographer based in Geelong, originally from Warrnambool, and someone who's always been drawn to genuine moments over perfect ones.
Before photography became my career, I worked in mental health. That experience taught me something I still carry into every wedding: the importance of listening, reading a room, and making people feel comfortable enough to simply be themselves. It's a skill that's just as valuable behind a camera as it is in conversation.
Photography started in the ocean. What began as photographing mates surfing quickly became an obsession with light, movement and the constantly changing coastline. Hours spent waiting for the right swell, the right weather and the right light eventually led to international recognition for my seascape photography, but more importantly, it shaped the way I see. Every frame is considered. Every composition is intentional. That fine art approach is something I now bring into every wedding I photograph.
To me, a wedding isn't about manufacturing moments. It's about recognising them. The quiet squeeze of a hand before the ceremony. A parent trying to hold back tears. The way your mates erupt when you walk into the reception. The moments that last only seconds, but become the photographs you'll return to for decades.
I want your gallery to feel timeless, honest and artfully crafted. Images that don't just remind you what your wedding looked like, but what it felt like.
When I'm not photographing weddings, you'll usually find me chasing waves with a bodyboard or surfboard, riding downhill mountain bike trails, playing guitar, or sharing a beer with mates. If you're looking for someone who genuinely cares about your experience and creates photographs with both heart and intention, I'd be honoured to tell your story.
ETHICS
Choosing the right wedding photographer is about more than loving someone's photos. It's about trusting the person behind the camera.
My goal is to create an experience where you can be fully present while I quietly document everything that makes your day yours. The laughter that wasn't planned, the emotion that caught everyone by surprise, the moments you'll remember, and the ones you didn't even realise happened.
My approach blends honest documentary storytelling with a refined artistic eye. Years spent creating award-winning fine art seascapes taught me to notice light, composition and fleeting moments, while my background in mental health taught me how to connect with people and help them feel genuinely at ease. Together, those experiences shape every wedding I photograph.
You'll never spend your day performing for the camera. Instead, I'll offer gentle guidance when it's needed, then step back and let your story unfold naturally, creating images that feel timeless, intentional and unmistakably like you.
Above all, I want you to look back at your photographs and remember how your wedding felt, not just how it looked.
If you're looking for someone who values connection, creativity and authentic storytelling, I'd be honoured to tell your story.
